About This Logo Design

YouTube is a video-sharing website on which users can upload, share, and view videos, created in February 2005by three former PayPal employees Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. YouTube, LLC was bought by Google Inc. in November 2006. The first YouTube video was uploaded on April 23, 2005 and was entitled “Me at the zoo”, and shows founder Karim at the San Diego Zoo. The video can still be viewed on the site. The YouTube logo features the company’s name with latter portion of the name in a rectangular oval which serves as a distinguishing feature for the logo. Below this oval, one can see the company’s slogan: “Broadcast Yourself”.
